Overcoming Heartbreak
When your words felt like a choking chain,
My reality began to wane.
I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t see,
My sanity was lost to me.
You said you loved me, but you lied and cheated,
You broke my heart, you left me depleted.
You made me doubt myself, my worth so low,
My joy was stolen, my soul did glow.
But then I realized, I wasn’t alone,
Others had faced this, their hearts had grown.
I could heal and grow, and find my own way,
Love myself again, and reclaim my day.
So thank you, dear, for the lesson taught,
For making me question what I sought.
